Certificate III in Retail Operations SIR30216

This qualification provides the skills and knowledge for an individual to be competent in retail operations and/or supervision with the need to apply discretion and judgment. Work would be undertaken in various retail store settings, such as specialty stores, supermarkets, department stores and retail fast food outlets. Individuals may have some responsibility for others and provide or hold specific coordination or support responsibilities within a store team.

Course Outcomes

This course will provide participants with the knowledge and skill to:

·     Provide in-depth product and service advice in a retail environment

·     Selling products and services in variety of retail settings

·     Supervising a checkout area

·     Leading a team preparing and selling fast food items

·     Leading a department team within a large store or supermarket

·     Acting as an assistant to a manager of a small to medium store

·     Organizing and maintaining work areas and displays

How long will it take to complete the course?

Usually participants take 12-24 months to complete the Certificate III in Retail SIR30216 qualification.  The program can be completed sooner depending on experience and recognition of prior learning.

How will I be assessed?

As the program is competency based, competency is achieved through providing evidence of competency. You will be assessed against the performance criteria of each of the Units of Competence.

Participants will complete a range of assessment activities including:

·     Workplace projects

·     Third party verification of skills

·     Discussion

·     Investigative Research

·     Self Assessment

·     Workplace observation/demonstration

Entry Requirements & Fees

Entry requirements for this qualification: NIL

After achieving this qualification candidates may complete a Certificate IV in Retail Management SIR40316 or other higher qualifications

 

Fees will depend on any recognition of prior learning, government support/subsidies etc. This information be discussed at initial interview and made clear to client at time of enrolment.
